Recliners are Back, Baby!
You’d be hard-pressed to find a designer who likes a recliner. The kind that is overstuffed and over-scaled? Barcalounger? La-Z-Boy? Ekorni? You know the look.
This sentiment is so universally understood that a client recently called me and said: "Please don’t hate me. I bought a recliner."
In my last five projects, I am batting 100 on placing recliners so it’s probably time to address the mechanism in the room.
A recliner doesn’t have to look like the one from the TV show Frazier. It can be smart and comfortable and stylish. Elegant? No problem.
So put your feet up and relax as I share my top 6 recliners in a variety of price points with every look imaginable.
Clean and Transitional
KRAVET
The Cam recliner is quite wonderful It has a quiet grace to it with slightly arched arms so it can fit with many styles. You can use one of Kravet's fabrics or any material of your choosing.
Yep, This Is a Recliner!
HICORY CHAIR
Technically, the Anderson is recliner chair. With wood legs, you would never guess it reclines, and that's the point. It doesn't look like a recliner. Pair with an ottoman to get the feet up.
A Modern Marvel
AMERICAN LEATHER
The Elton doesn’t even look like a recliner. Who knew? It's lovely and stylish.
It's beautiful and sits like a dream. You can pick your own material.
Great Price Point
ROOM AND BOARD
The Arlo sits well but fabric choices are limited to a few offerings. Very well priced. Doesn't sit as well as the others. You get what you pay for.
Sleek With all the Bells and Whistles
AMERICAN LEATHER
Many of American Leather's offerings are quite clean-looking with all the comfort you could want. You can use one of their fabrics or leathers or choose your own so we can make this fit with your decor.
Traditional
FERREL MITMAN
For my traditional peeps, this lovely Downing Street tufted recliner chair fills a void in the market and it’s beyond comfortable. A matching ottoman allows you to get the feet up
