This year, I’m celebrating a big milestone and some exciting changes. I moved to Ipswich, MA.
Why Now?
I turned 60, and started a new chapter. Since I was a kid, spending summers in the Adirondacks, I have been drawn to nature. I realized I didn’t want to wait until retirement to live somewhere beautiful. I have a good ten years of design in front of me and I want to spend them here on the North Shore.
A tidal creek winding through a green salt marsh in the Great Marsh on Massachusetts’ North Shore, under a wide blue sky.
What Called Me to Ipswich?
The drive here transforms me. The marshes, the trees, the estuaries, the water. My home looks out on the back side of Crane Estate where the Ipswich River meets Plum Island Sound. I can see the ocean one way and the marshes the other. As a designer known for color, I find it endlessly inspiring. The color of the water is different every day, sometimes every hour. The days it looks lavender are mind-blowing! The greens and golds of the marsh and the way the light shifts throughout the day are fascinating. It never looks the same way twice. All of which informs my work.
I find myself in a state of awe.
Still Here for You!
Ipswich is close enough that I am still working every week throughout the Boston area with clients I have known for years and some newer ones, too. I am excited to meet new neighbors on the North Shore as well.
I love it here. It’s a great place to land.
So here’s to the next chapter.
I would love to hear about what’s new with you!
